What is wrong

Honda is recalling certain 2023-2026 CR-V Hybrid, Accord Hybrid, and 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV vehicles that were previously remedied under NHTSA recall number 26V366. When using the tire repair kit, pressure may build within the sealant bottle, causing the bottle cap to detach.

Why it matters

A detached bottle cap can become a projectile and strike the user or others nearby, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

Dealers will inspect and replace the tire repair kit nozzle, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 16, 2026. Honda's number for this recall is PPW. Vehicle Identification Numbers involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 17, 2026. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 26V366 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Recall repairs are free at the brand's dealers, no matter who owns the car now.

What to do now

  1. Enter your 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls – it shows whether this recall is open on your exact car. Your VIN is on the driver-side dashboard (look through the windshield) and on your registration.
  2. If it is open, call a Honda dealer to book the free repair. Ask how long parts will take if the remedy is not ready yet.
  3. A mobile mechanic cannot do recall work – only the brand's dealers can. A mobile mechanic can still check other problems on the car where it is parked.
