Who we are

MobileMechanics.ai (“we”) runs this website, an independent guide and directory of mobile mechanics. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

• Requests from drivers: the city, state and ZIP code where the car is, the vehicle, the problem you describe, when you need help, your name, phone number and email.
• Listing forms from businesses: business name, website, the areas and services you describe, your name, email and optional phone.
• Technical data: like most websites, our host records basic technical information (IP address, browser, pages visited) in server logs for security and to keep the site running.

How we use it

• To pass a driver's request to a mobile mechanic who serves the area – one at a time, and to another only if the first cannot take it – so they can contact the driver about that job.
• To add, correct or remove a business listing, and to answer email.
• To keep the site secure and working.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

A driver's request is shared with a mobile mechanic who serves the area, one at a time – often the mechanic who holds that city's City Exclusive. Those mechanics are independent businesses and handle your information under their own practices. We never pass requests to call centers, lead brokers or marketers. We also use service providers that host the site and deliver email for us.

Fonts and third-party services

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. Outbound links go to businesses' own websites, which have their own privacy policies.

The chat assistant

The chat assistant on this site (the “Car help” chat) is an AI assistant, not a person or a mechanic. What you type, any photos you add and the page you are on are sent through our Cloudflare service to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, so it can write the replies. Anthropic processes this for us under its commercial terms. If you send a request through the chat, we handle it like any other request, as described above.

To improve the assistant, we keep a log of chat conversations for 30 days with names, phone numbers and email addresses removed. Photos you add are kept for 90 days so the mechanic who takes your request can see them. Your chat is also saved in your own browser for 24 hours so you can pick it up again; starting a new chat clears it.

How long we keep it

We keep requests and listing messages for as long as we need them to handle the request, keep records and resolve questions, and then delete them.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Some states give residents specific privacy rights; we will honor requests made under them.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will post any changes on this page with a new date.
